Postdoctoral Research Position: Quantum materials for nanodevices
and next-generation solar cells

NanoTECH group, at the University of Salamanca, is looking for motivated Postdoctoral Research Associates (PDRAs) to apply to University’s internal funding for postdoctoral positions. he positions are available for a three-year term, starting with a competitive gross salary of €27,960 p/a. Postdoctoral research associates (PDRA) will receive comprehensive health insurance
coverage and internal funding to support the development of their individual research endeavours, including a travel allowance. PDRAs will have the opportunity to independently pursue their research projects within a stimulating environment, benefiting from the resources and expertise provided by the Nanotechnology group.

We are seeking applications from exceptionally accomplished young scientists with a demonstrated record of excellence. Eligible candidates must hold a PhD degree in physics,  semiconductor physics, material science, or a closely related field. A robust background in working with 2D-like materials and familiarity with clean room facilities is essential. Proficiency in spoken and written English is required.

Físicos de la USAL publican en 'Nature Communications' nuevas propiedades únicas del grafeno que abren vías de investigación en nanociencia

Recientemente hemos publicado un  estudio en colaboración con el Instituto de Nanociencia-CNR (Pisa), las universidades de Aquisgrán y Radboud y el Laboratorio Europeo de Altos Campos Magnéticos de Nijmegen. El hallazgo está relacionado con la experimentación del efecto Hall cuántico a temperatura ambiente en grafeno y tiene implicaciones para el desarrollo de tecnologías electrónicas avanzadas y eficientes

Tenure-track position in the Nanotechnology Group at University of Salamanca Spain

NanoTECH is a multidisciplinary group made up of researchers from different departments of the University of Salamanca. Our current work has a major emphasis on developing novel low-dimensional systems for fundamental physics. We employ several experimental methodologies (i.e. low-temperature magnetotransport, photocurrent spectroscopy, THz emission and detection) with a common stem in clean-room-based work and two-dimensional materials. We are looking for scientist with good background in 2D materials, semiconductor physics and optics that can integrate and strengthen the level of our group. Candidates with interest in twisted layers of 2D materials are particularly welcomed.

Salary & Benefits:

The position is tenable for 30 months in a tenure-track process. Each fellowship includes funds for travel, reasonable research expenses as well as competitive salary. The total cost of a fellowship is 4.855 €/month and the net salary of the ER will be around 3.500 €/month. The net salary results from deducting all compulsory (employer/employee), Healthcare contributions as well as direct taxes (e.g., income tax) from the gross amounts. Two Postdoctoral research contracts in new technologies based on 2D materials

Nanotechnology group in the Department of Physics of the University of Salamanca (USAL) is seeking applicants for two post-doctoral research fellowhsip.  The deadline is December 17, 2020 for both applications. 

1. Development of terahertz detectors/emitters using 2d materials

Our current work is mainly focused on developing novel fully 2-dimensional-based systems for fundamental physics and for real-word applications. We employ several experimental methodologies (i.e. THz emission and detection, non-linear optics and low-temperature measurements,) with a common stem in clean-room-based work and two-dimensional materials. We are looking to strength our terahertz field investigation line with a new post-doctoral fellow. A candidate with technical skills in terahertz technology field (THz detection and emission experiments and/or THz Time Domain Spectroscopy) and/or in electrical characterization of semiconductor devices is sought. Additionally, the candidate must have a good background in semiconductor physics and optics to integrate and strengthen the level of our group.
